Dr. Thomas T. Doan, Dr. Thomas W. Cail and their staff have been in the dental industry for many years and continue to learn about the profession and what it has to offer. Drs. Doan and Cail have spent hundreds of hours learning and keeping abreast on the very latest techniques to provide their clients with the most optimal care.
THOMAS T. DOAN, D.M.D.
Dr. Doan was born in Saigon, Vietnam and came to Florida when he was only one year old. Raised in Sanford, Florida, he graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a minor in Fine Arts. He received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Florida Collage of Dentistry. Following this, he completed a general practice residency at New York Hospital with an emphasis on management of medically compromised patients and aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry. During his residency program, Dr. Doan was awarded Resident of the Year and the first ever Dr. Lawrence Diamond Award for excellence in all aspects of treating gum disease.
Dr. Doan consistently strives for excellence in all aspects of reconstructive and aesthetic dentistry. He is a graduate of the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Studies. An active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the West Coast Dental Association, the Sarasota County Dental Association, the Sarasota Study Club, SaraGators Dental Study Club and CEREC Study Club. Dr. Doan regularly attends continuing education courses across America to expand his professional horizons and to keep up to date on the very latest techniques.
Alongside his academic achievements, he and his wife Linda have established, organized and now lead a dedicated team of local dentists and their staffs in an annual charity designed to give back to the under served community. Project Christmas Smile provides a day of free dentistry during the Christmas holidays with the hope that no one has to wake up Christmas morning with a toothache. In conjunction with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, he is also a participant in the Give Back a Smile Program where we offer free oral rehabilitation to victims of domestic violence. During the 2006 meeting of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry meeting in San Diego, he was honored with the Partners for Peace Award for his charitable contributions. Gulf Coast Magazine recognized him as one of the top forty Sarasota business persons under age forty (40 Under 40) in 2005.
Beyond all of his achievements, his interests are in martial arts (Kendo and Karate), arts, music, cooking, reading, tennis, travel and automobiles. Dr. Doan is, above all, a family man who enjoys time with his wife Linda, his two daughters Mischa and Esme, and their three dogs: Puffi, Benji and Kobe.

THOMAS W. CAIL, D.M.D.
Dr. Tom Cail was born, raised and educated in Boston. After graduating from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science degree, he served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, great uncle and father, he then became a third generation dentist when he received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
After practicing with his father and brother in Boston for11 years, he and his family moved to Sarasota in 1978. He then established his successful practice here and was joined by Dr. Doan in 2002.
Dr. Cail is well known here in the Sarasota community and has lectured locally and nationally on TMJ Disorders and Occlusion. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management and a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the West Coast Dental Association and the Sarasota County Dental Association as well as the American Academy of Pain Management. His diagnostic skills are legendry and he is an enthusiastic supporter of Dr. Doan’s Project Christmas Smile.
During his leisure time, he enjoys tennis boating, reading, an occasional round of golf and most of all, his family. Dr. Tom and his wife Andy are well known for their support of many charitable and cultural organizations here. Andy and their son, Tom, form a successful and respected Realtor team with Sky Sotheby’s International Realty. Their daughter, Liza who is an attorney, granddaughter Emma and husband, who is a physician, reside in Winston-Salem, NC. In April, 2006, another member of the Cail clan arrived on the scene – Zoe, the most lovable Golden Retriever.
Providing excellent caring and dedicated dental care has been a Cail family tradition for over 105 years and Dr. Cail appreciates all of Dr. Doan’s professional skill, attributes and contributions to the continuation of providing Exceptional Dentistry to the Sarasota community.

BARBARA MILLER
Barbara Miller has been with the practice for over 20 years as the office manager. As a result of her experience and long service, patients and staff alike depend on Barbara to answer their questions, and solve their varying dilemmas!
Barbara is a native of Sarasota, married and mother of two boys and one girl and feels so fortunate that they and her two grandchildren all live nearby. Barbara is an animal lover, but her primary passion is gardening and she has transformed her yard into a miniature Selby-like oasis.

LINDA LE DOAN
From her origins from Saigon, Vietnam to her hometown of Gainesville, Florida, Linda calls Sarasota her new home when she had moved here in 2002 with her husband, Dr. Doan. With 10 years of dental experience and more than 10 years in customer service, she now operates as the office business administrator. She is known around the office as "TCB" or "Taking Care of Business."
Escaping from the communist regime of Vietnam with her family back in 1980 and toughing out rigors of immigration to the United States, Linda is a survivor. Learning from her parents and helping them in their successful restaurant business in Gainesville, she is always out giving a sincere helping hand. KNUTE MALWIN, R.D.H.
Knute is one of a very few Florida natives that you may meet. For 47 years he has enjoyed calling Sarasota County his home. He was born in Venice, Florida and moved to Sarasota 15 years ago. His love for the water has kept him here in this tropical paradise.
Knute graduated as President of his dental hygiene class from St. Petersburg Junior College in 1984. For twenty-two years he has enjoyed his profession and the ever changing field of Dentistry. As a veteran team member in this practice, our patients rave over Knute’s special touch, jovial demeanor, and absolute professionalism towards them. His father, two brothers, and sister are also in the dental profession and have a family dental practice in Venice, Florida. His passion is scuba diving, fishing, and weight training. His greatest joy comes from the time he spends with his sons Ryan, who is 9, and Rees, who is 8 years old.

As a native to Sarasota, she is married to her wonderful husband Cole for 27 years. She has two sons, Trevor 23, and Daniel 16. Once she graduated from Riverview High School in 1976, she continued her advanced training at Manatee Technical Institute in 1978 with a certificate in Dental Assisting. One of the most unique training that Barbara had attained is through learning the management of TMD (TMJ) with Dr. Cail and now also with Dr. Doan.
She is passionate about her family and often enjoys camping, antiquing, reading, gardening, and walking.
She has been with this practice for 24 years! She takes a lot of pride of being a part of this wonderful dental office. We have a very warm and caring atmosphere with a very competent staff and exceptional dentists in Dr. Doan and Dr. Cail.

Rachel Craft moved from Northeastern Ohio with her husband and two boys and their Himalayan cat. She is a certified dental assistant, having graduated from Akron Medical Dental Institute in 1994.
Rachel enjoys spending time with her family by going to the beach, park, and bike riding, and hiking. She is also very avid in reading, cooking, and baking.
With 12 years of dental assisting experience, Rachel is a seasoned veteran of the dental profession.
